TherapyTravelers provides experienced local and travel contract therapists to those in need. Their diverse family is made up of Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, School Psychologists, Social Workers, School Nurses, Special Education Teachers, BCBAs, and Behavior Interventionists who work in school districts throughout the United States. They know that in order to attract and retain the finest therapists, each member of the core team has to perform with excellence. Their goal is to provide valuable support and true partnership so that their therapists can help all of their students reach their full potential.
TherapyTravelers firmly believe that children can lead better lives and thrive when communities work well together to support them. That’s why, when COVID-19 swept across the globe threatening all of our futures in different ways, they jumped into action and worked hard to empower and support their incredible therapists and the children relying on them. TherapyTravelers has provided remote therapy to at least 10,000 students, giving them the vital support they need to combat the uncertainty that stems from the Coronavirus pandemic.
Providing stability through unstable times
When the global COVID-19 pandemic hit, millions of children worldwide were pulled out of school and thrown into a new world of virtual learning. TherapyTravelers quickly jumped into action to help struggling teachers work hard to provide remote placements for clinicians and educators when schools began closing. They even provided a free series of webinars to help parents and guardians to handle home-schooling and the abrupt change in lifestyle that comes with remote learning.
Now, TherapyTravelers have released a free list of educational websites for parents, guardians and educators to access, so that children can get the best learning experience possible at home. This will improve their ability to connect parents, guardians and therapists with the resources they need to help the students under their care. This is particularly important as students with special needs need continuity, familiarity, and routine in order to avoid regression during this global crisis.
Free remote resources to help students
Among their other virtual resources, TherapyTravelers has invested time and effort into curating a list of informative websites to help educators and students successfully navigate the world of remote learning.
This valuable list includes websites that cover a wide range of topics. There are links to sites that provide a variety of fun and educational games, allowing students to find the joy in learning again despite the difficult times they’re going through with the pandemic. If students need a more ‘virtual classroom’ based approach, some of the links in the list direct educators to sites that deliver interactive lessons covering a variety of skills such as reading comprehension, writing strategies, spelling and vocabulary, technology, social and emotional learning, and personal development.
